I agree with you that this perfectly sums up the premise of the book. Citizens cannot express an ounce of individuality without punishment. Kim, and others, have learned to lay low to avoid the cold showers and boring food, if not far worse punishments.Tara D Morgan wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 13:47 The quote I liked best is 'Kim had long ago learned the value of dull conventionality. Being the oddball was never wise, even if you were right.' I think it sums Kim's character up perfectly.

I absolutely agree with you on this. This is my favorite quote because it's carries a certain type of motivation, a push to prepare for the inevitable. It certainly is my favorite quote too.Cheryl Erickson wrote: ↑18 Dec 2022, 14:35 "Prepare for the grind." is my favorite quote because it sums up Kim's life perfectly.

This one just made me so happy.davidejioforr wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 11:27 There are several quotes in this book and like to know which one carried the most weight/was most impactfuk
"One of the Creators, named Rav, recounted how she and her AI, Revilak, had been at loggerheads, neither of them willing to admit to being human, until her AI had exclaimed, “Aha! You’re happy you’re an AI! We don’t have emotions, so that proves you’re a human. I am Revilak, you are Rav. I am an AI, you are my Creator.” Rav related that she had nearly gone mad as a result, and that her own creation had tried to terminate her. It hadn’t worked, so Rav was forced to concede that she was human after all."
