Great-aunt Rita has never had children of her own, but she still gets to experience what being a grandparent feels like through her little nephew, Jake, and little niece, Elina Farber. They were inspired by their daily adventures to write this book titled Roarasaurus. It is a wonderful little book about friendships. It is not easy to make a new friend, but once we get over the first hurdle, then it gets better.

The story follows a simple plastic Tyrannosaurus Rex toy that Great-aunt Rita bought for Jake as a present on his birthday. What she didn't know was that the Tyrannosaurus Rex was more than just a simple little toy; it was a magical little toy that had a mind of its own.

There is an effervescent energy about the book from the beginning. The illustrator, Mike Sofka, captured a great feeling with his cover design and character design. The illustration is so good that I feel that the story didn't really need words to make sense. The pictures said everything that should have been said, and that takes great strategic design.

I also enjoyed how simple the story is. It's the kind of story that's entertaining but also educational, and that's the best kind of children's book.

The book, however, is too short. At just under seven hundred words, I feel that the author could have pushed it by another few pages. Nonetheless, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. It's edited perfectly well, which is great.

The length of the book is the primary reason I recommend it to children between the ages of three and six. I think that older children might get bored of the story easily because it's so short, and that's the reason I doubt they would ask to read it again after the first time.
