While nowadays it is common to romanticize the American West in 1877, but to me that period personifies the violence. Still, I find it hard to resist this book after reading up the description of the storyline in review. Even though I am not entirely sure that I would like the content, especially in the part regarding "deal with the Indians", but I am willing to give a try. Congratulations on BOTD!

It is interesting to read about the American west during the period of conflict with the Indians. I’m wary of the violence and massacres though. Nevertheless, I would still want to read this. Thank you for your review!

This book sounds educational to read. I am always interested in history, so this won't be bad to read. I am also glad it contains humor which is helpful when read about historical war torn country. Thanks for the excellent review.

I like stories that have great character development and depth. However, I'm not into American Westerns. Congrats on BOTD though!

This historical fiction appears to be quite a page-turner. I like the idea of occasional humour amidst the highly intense situation.
I wonder if Jack was able to find his stepmother.
Thanks for your insightful review and congrats to the author.

Set in 1877 is a nice historical fiction novel "Bone Necklace" by Julia Sullivan. The focus being on the lifetime of history belonging to Jack Peniel makes it interesting to me. I want to read this book.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I am an avid reader of historical fiction, and the Wild West has never ceased to amaze me. It will be enthralling to be immersed in the late nineteenth century and to see what became of Jack. Thanks for the excellent review.

Bone Necklace by Julia Sullivan, a historical fiction set in the American West in 1877 seems like the kind of book I like to read from my teenage years. My interest in Native American history was quite intense during that time. I will like to read this one just so I know how Jack and other characters fit into the storyline.

Historical fiction is a genre I usually pick up to read especially those with war storylines. I don't know much about these times, or setting so it might be worth it to check it out. Glad to know there is character development. Great review.

I'm a fan of historical fiction, but the notion of the American war is not something that I am interested in reading about. I congratulate the author on his book being the BOTD. Additionally, I enjoyed reading this review, well done.

Wild west type stories remind me of my grandpa and great uncle. They always had an old black and white western playing on the TV when I came to visit. I just know that this book is going to give me some serious nostalgia.

Bone Necklace by Julia Sullivan sounds like an interesting book. One thing that gives me the urge to read this book is to find out if Jack Peniel and his father find the peace they were fighting for. Congratulations on the BOTD.

The conflict between Chief Joseph, the Wallowa Valley's New Perce, and the US government in 1877 is chronicled in the book Bone Necklace. In recounting their awful story of horrific human injustice and atrocity, years of research are evident. Great writer Julia Sullivan treated the nez perce with the utmost regard. She told a factual narrative using imaginary characters, which I think is brilliant. It is a good book indeed. Thanks for the review and Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

You've done a great job in giving a comprehensive analysis of this novel. My pick from your review is on the area of character development. I liked that the author did a good job as regards this, especially with such round characters as Jack.
