The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy

Post by BookJunkieMom »

I have never been into romance or erotica. Nothing against them, just not my cup of tea. But I did read the The Fifty Shades of Grey series, and I love that the erotica is honestly a layer to the series. I am now open to that genre of books, but I am picky about what books in that genre I read. And I can't wait for the movie to come out.

I Was Exactly The Same, A Friend Recommended A Few Different Books To Me And I Gave Them All Ago. If Your A Ebook Reader Try The THIS MAN Series By Jodi Ellen Malpas It Comes Out In Paper Back In October. This Was Another Good Trilodgy I Found, The After Dark Series Was Okay Not As Good, Sylvia Days Crossfire Series Is A Good Read. Kitty French Knight And Play And Knight And Stay Was Okay, The Third Is Due Out Soon, Think That Series Is Only EBOOK At The Moment, Theres The Eighty Days Series But I Wouldnt Personally Recomend It.

I have not read the trilogy yet but from what I've heard about it I can't wait to read it. All my friends tell me it is amazing but having not read it I can't give a full opinion. However, I have read a romance novel and if Fifty Shades of Grey is anything like the one I've read, I'm sure I'll love it.

This was a great trilogy, just a bit disturbing at some parts...

I agree, there were definitely some disturbing parts although I found myself hooked and couldn't stop reading! Never thought that it would be a series that I could get into....but found myself wishing there were more than just 3 books!

I am an avid romance reader and i was actually really surprised at reading this trilogy. Normally romance novels have the classic give me the basic emotions of happy, sad and butterflies in my stomach. However, with the Fifty Shades books I found that my emotions were all over the place! sometimes i was excited, others i was disgusted and most i was confuised about weather or not i should feel those ways about the different topics! if you haven't read it yet, i definitely recommend it as an emotional rollercoaster!

I swore to myself I wouldn't touch the trilogy, but after learning who was playing Christian Grey I had to read it. I'm glad I did. I loved it, it was a real turn on, but I could have done without the S&M play. I love the way the author connected the two characters their flirting and banter was enough to do the job for me. I'm so looking forward to seeing Charlie in this film. Bring it on!
If I didn't write, I'd never sleep.

Up the Irons!!!

I didn't know what all the hype was about these books. Till a good friend said to me "you have got to read these books". SO of course i deciede to read them. I read all 3 with in a mater of a week. I couldn't put them down. I even cried at some of the parts. Some areas i was bewildered at why they were in the books but then i was brought back in from all the emotions that were in play.

For me these books were a letdown. There was a huge hype on Dr. Oz and many other shows and I was so excited to read it thinking it would be the best romance/erotica series ever written. While I did love the story line of it and read the trilogy within a week, I did not think that it lived up to the hype. If I had read it before everyone was talking about it I think I would have liked it a lot better.

Again, I did find it a good read as I loved the characters, but I have read books with more erotica included and simple romance novels that toed the border of too much better than this series. I do believe I will love the movie, especially now that they have started naming the actors that will be playing in it.

I keep debating reading the series but because of all the hype I am unsure if I want to or not.

I thought the books were extremely poorly written. The writing style almost seems as if it should have been for young adults (minus the erotic scenes.) Overall, I was extremely unhappy and didn't end up finishing the book.

I read all three of the books in the series because I was sure that the story line would get better. It did get better by the third book. Her vocabulary in the book was very repetitive. This genre is not really my chosen reading. I thought that some of the parts in the first book were borderline abusive. I don't want anyone controlling me or my actions. I understand that some people enjoy that but it isn't for me. I have no idea how they can make this into a half way decent movie with it still being rated R.

I read the fanfic long before it became the book and it wasn't great then and it's not great now.

I loved this trilogy, I didn't really enjoy all the bdsm or s&m play (which ever you prefer to call it) but I enjoyed the storyline and the characters on their roller coaster of a love journey, it kept me intrigued till the end that's for sure.
