Ava Lawson, a brilliant and creative CEO, strangely built Seneca, a system that plays strange music and whoever listens will hear the truth. However, when this system is activated, people behave irrationally, violently, and dangerously. Coming from its title, The Sound of Creation by Gabriella Zielke, this creation of sound is what drives Ava to flee the police, steal her own code, and keep it out of the hands of her unknown enemies. In the midst of her fleeing and hiding, she encounters a strange man who introduces himself as an apprentice. Many challenges, twists, and turns are thrown her way, and the only question is how she will overcome them all.

The plot was original and fresh. It was relevant and timely in our current technological world. There was a wide range of characters, ideas, and experiences, making it relatable to a wide range of readers. Characters are brought to life through fantastic dialogue that breaks down complex ideas into bite-sized chunks. The author has a unique way of creating unique world building that enhances the story and gives it an original spin.

The novel is a work of science fiction based on the idea that music and interactive video games can be used as lethal weapons and a tool to either fix or destroy the world. There is some action, mystery, and a little bit of romance, but the overall plot revolves around finding solutions and fighting enemies in order to save the world and the human race. It delves into the dangers of technology and the pernicious effects it can have on all of us. As well as the value of family.

The only issue I have is that I had difficulty understanding some context, mostly scientific context, and terms, from the beginning of the book. I was halfway through when I realized Seneca was the name of the system, not the company. I don't understand the part where Zek was introduced in the book, how he came to Earth, or what his goal was, though I do understand all of that by the halfway point. It is preferable if Zek has a wide range of exposure on the story or more point of view to explain further his part or goal and to better understand him because he was also part of the story. This means I can’t give The Sound of Creation full marks, but it’s still a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

The book is highly recommended for those who enjoy science fiction stories with unique plots, world building, and timely scenes that future generations may encounter. Gabriella Zielke created a twist by introducing how this technology may work, making readers question the realism of it in the real world. This book is actually a good place to start for readers who want to try science fiction because it is very easy to dive into.
