" Feel Good " movies...
Imo one's reaction to a book or movie is greatly influenced by the book / movie they read / viewed immediately before...
After coming off a week's " Marathon " of " Breaking Bad " i needed a respite from all the blood / gore, and violence...
" Love, Actually " was the ticket!...stellar cast, excellent writing, and if you like " kids ", some of the CUTEST...
Adored the music score too, a real potpourri, from Joni Mitchell, to Christmas songs, etc...
Other than the usual " frippery " assigned to this genre ( light romantic comedy )
Was some very seriously beautiful photography of the city of London, which brought back memories...
Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman were standouts.............at least a dozen top rate actors turned in excellent performances...
Listening to the " soundtrack " as we speak....
Carpe Diem!

Its about the jazz musician Red Nichols. It tells of his early career, how he became popular in the 1920's and left the music business when his daughter came down with polio. The ending left me with a good feeling, where he makes a comeback and his daughter starts to walk again. Danny Kaye was never one of my favorites, but he was quite a good dramatic actor in this movie.
Some trivia re Danny Kaye....................he was also known for his expertise in Chinese Cooking...

I just remembered, he was married to the songwriter Sylvia Fine. She wrote some of the music from The Five Pennies. Lullabye in Ragtime was one of the best. I cay play it on the banjo.

I cant think of any more really feel good movies. I can think of a few that were kind of overwhelming. LOTR was one, and one called Hangar 18 that had a killer ending with loud music and explosions and stuff. We saw it in a theater and it really made an impression on me.

Did you mean Untouchable perhaps?
About the only movie I ever recommended & she gets the name wrong - what is one to do?

It's the same movie - in France Intouchables, don't know how they pronounce it though & my side of the pond it's called Untouchable. To totally confuse things you gang go one better & add a definite article to the French title & it becomes The Intouchables. Bewildering - kinda appropriate for the movie though

Eirther way it's still super.
