What a great review. I love the way you bring Scarlet's intelligence to the forefront. I agree that the religion was used to create obstacles in a budding relationship and not trying to convert the reader. Thank you for such an enjoyable and informative review.

"Becoming Athena" by Katherine Lore is a young adult romance story that takes place in a Mormon community. Scarlett Leone is the main character and she has created a rule that she will never marry or even have a boyfriend because she does not want to end up in an abusive relationship like her mother. Despite her self-imposed rule she does look fondly on her neighbor Cy who is Mormon while
Scarlett's father raised her to be anti-Mormon. Scarlett readily agrees to tutor Cy so that he can pass the science senior final. Will young love bloom between the two of them even though Scarlett's father is an abusive anti-Mormon? One needs to read the book to learn their fate.

Becoming Athena by Katherine Lore seems to have a romantic theme that revolves around the character of Scarlet, and the narration beautifully reflects the perspective of Scarlet.

I think everyone can relate to life of Scarlet. I enjoyed how she compares certain people in her life to that of Greek mythology. We get to follow her as she navigates senior year of highschool all the while dealing with an abusive home life. Mostly at the hands of her father. I enjoyed the few chapters I read as a sample and recommend. Whether a teenager or a parent or just someone looking for a new take on the life of a teen I think this story has something anyone can enjoy

It's pretty good how the book actually makes parallels like the unfazed attitude of Scarllet and Athena while keeping her real with all the teens problems where you make promisses for yourself that you discover once more how difficult is to maintain your word and don't change with yours experiences.

There are few books on this subject that can be recommended to teenagers. It surely offers a good perspective about marriage, and family

Wow what an excellent review, well done!! I'm super excited to read this book as I love YA books in general. The author also managed to keep me clued from the first page. I'm excited to see how everything pans out for Scarlett.

I am not into young adult romance novels, but I like your review's highlights of a healing family and a progression of time-tested friendships. I am a soft-hearted reader, so I am sure I would probably cry as well if I read "Becoming Athena" by Katherine Lore. Your review is an excellent insight overall!

Like many other teenagers Scarllet has a strong personality and when confronted with what she believed to be true, and what she decided to go for in her life. She enters in a conflict and she won't go back like hers Godess like, Athena also would not, but she needs to suffer the consequences of her choices like every other God or Man.

The Cover art already made the book to interesting to look at, and this review has only confirmed it. I'm already intrigued by both Scarlett's character and the world she has to survive in. Thanks for the review! I'll definitely be picking it up.

This is an interesting Greek mythology that depicts love and religion. I would like to know if Scarlet and act will end up together. I guess I will have to read this engrossing young adult tale to find out. Congrats on the BOTD.
