Scarlet Leone and Cy Smith's story seems to have taken a romantic twist. Considering that Leone never wanted to date because of her mum's experience, I hope the story ended with her finding happiness. Congrats on BOTD.

I’m not currently looking for any romance novels to read, but this one sounds like a compelling emotional roller coaster. I’m glad to hear that Mormonism is used more as an obstacle to the main characters’ relationship than to try and sway the reader’s beliefs, and I like the use of science, particularly astronomy, and Greek mythology together. Thank you for the helpful review.

*Becoming Athena* seems like such a creative YA novel! A young goddess-to-be swore she’d never fall in love, but she meets and tutors Mormon-raised Cy, and things are about to change. It’s wonderful that Scarlett is well-developed, and I like how this isn’t religious-based, but more of a coming-of-age story. I love A Walk to Remember, so this clean YA romance sounds like a perfect read for me! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Your review made me want to read this book. I don't read romance novel that much, but this book sounds very interesting. Scarlett sounds like a likeable main character. And I am curious with how it will ends.

An interesting roller coaster love story can be found in the young adult romance book "Becoming Athena" by Katherine Lore. The story follows Scarlet Leone, who happens to fall in love with her neighbor by going against her family. This book may be a good entertainer.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Thanks for your great review. I do like young adult books as a rule. I think Scarlet feels like an outsider for many reasons. It sounds like Scarlet and Cy try to have a relationship. I'm curious to know if they can make it work. I do like clean books and romance is fine too. I think the roller coaster effect would be interesting. After reading your review, I am certain I want to add it to my list of books to read.

Cy Smith will have to break the restrictions surrounding his beliefs, while Scarlet will most certainly disappoint her father. I am wondering how they will overcome this. I am glad the pieces finally came together and the puzzle fit perfectly. Thanks for the review.

This is a well-written book, I like that the review echoes what the few pages I read are about. Outlining Scarlet's intelligent personality is very important, it helped me relate to her and her metaphors were funny. I just don't like young adult enough to want to read this whole book. But it's very suitable to young adult fans.

Interesting from the first sentence this YA novel will have you turning every page to find out what will happen next. The Greek gods and goddesses are the nicknames of the major characters and the feuds abound as though they they on Mount Olympus rather than in a regular high school in modern day Utah. Read this book to find out how one young lady Becomes Athena!

This sounds like a beautiful coming-of-age story. I can relate to the feelings of thinking one will never find love. I ended up with my happily ever after though, as it sounds like Scarlett just might too! Guess I’ll have to read this book to find out!

If the preview is this good, that means reading the entire book is a must. Already the first few chapters is filled with so many different emotional scenarios, budding romance, broken hearts, raw envy/jealousy and the list goes on. My attention was drawn to the makeup of a dysfunctional family, or are they?

I loved it this far. :tiphat:
