Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is an adventure book about four people's adventures worldwide. They started with an adventure in South Island, New Zealand, where the narrator and Sam were the only attendees. Daniel and Alec were absent during this adventure but joined them in the following adventures. They designed rules to follow during the adventures, such as adventure from point A to point B, no luxuries, and it should be for men only. When they reached the place, they would adventure from one point to another using different modes of transport. The modes of transport depended on the nature of the place, such as hiking, kayaking, cycling, and walking. They went to Tokyo, Japan, where they had to move from Tokyo to Niigata. The place was hilly, so they cycled to their final destination. In each place they visited, they moved from one point to another. The adventures happened once each year for fifteen years.
The author provided maps at the beginning of each chapter. Each chapter was about a specific adventure, so the maps summarized the adventures, familiarizing the reader with the places before reading the chapter. The maps also enabled the reader to create a mental image of the place of the adventure, making them feel the feeling the four men felt while on their adventures. The author ensured the book was enjoyable as possible since he also included a summary of each adventure at the end of each chapter. He would mention the modes of transport, time taken, distance, and accommodation. It was important since it enabled the reader to reflect on the chapter before going to the next chapter. Finally, I liked the description of the adventures, for instance, the adventure to New Zealand, where they found themselves surrounded by a herd of cows. It made the reader experience being on an adventure, just like the characters.
The book had no negative aspects. The flow was great, and the author explained the adventures well.
I rate Man Mission by Eytan Uliel five out of five stars. The book was professionally edited because I discovered an error. The descriptions of the adventures were great. It made the reader feel as if they were on an adventure too. He used visual aids to facilitate the storytelling, such as the maps at the beginning of each chapter showing the main landmarks in the places of adventure. With all these great things about the book, deducting a star would be unfair; hence, the rating.
I recommend this book to people interested in adventure novels. They would not be disappointed once they read this book since it contains many adventures covered within fifteen years. The author described them well, ensuring readers would love them.
