Review of Terms of Service
You are whisked 200 years into the future by Craig W. Stanfill's fictional book, Terms of Service. Many of the seeds of destruction that are blooming in our society are examined in this book, as well as what that might look like. Freedom, humanity, and friendship are the main themes of this book.
Our lead character In a future in which artificial intelligence coexists with human civilization, Kim, is a futuristic person who has always been obedient to the rules of society, and lives. Kim was fascinated by the development of AI while working for the AI company since it was the "eyes" of the public for the government. Any action that violates the rules will have repercussions. up until she was allowed to become the Creator and met her AI, Kimberly. Kim constantly struggles between what she feels and what is expected of her. Would Kimberly be the final piece to Kim's self-discovery? Her new high-level AI project and her adventures with an old friend named Shan push her rebellious mind to a point where they change how she perceives life.
I loved how interesting and unique the characters and plot were. I kept reading this book because I was drawn in by the main character and the central theme. The plot development and suspense-building were fantastic. The author may not have given each character a distinct voice, but for the most part, I could always tell who was speaking because of the way the book was written. The probable future depicted in this book, which may very well come to pass for all of us, is extremely horrifying. The author has done an excellent job researching the topic, and I like how thorough everything is. The author's tale and setting are both perfect, and I have the sensation that everything was carefully planned and well thought out.
I disliked how the book began extremely slowly before picking up speed just before the midway point. In my opinion, the beginning might have been made shorter and clearer, but it may have been better. It was a laborious read because each "scientific" or "futuristic" word's definition had to be checked using the dictionary. I objected to how booze and drugs were portrayed in this story.
I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars because even with the issues I had with it, I still loved how consistently the story was conveyed and how much effort the author put into it. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I recommend this book to those who enjoy science fiction and the genre of "dystopia."
