Despite not having read the first in the series, I was immediately drawn in by the fluidity and metered rhyming The Lion of Camelot is written in. I consider myself a lover of vocabulary, so when I discovered in reading the sample that I had to look up MANY words I was impressed. This seems like a book I would enjoy reading, especially after reading the first of the series! Congratulations on BOTD!

Please quit tearing my soul apart! It is the same story as with the first book of "Camelot Chronicles" I got exited envisioning the epic story of magic and legends, only to have my hopes crashed with realisation its poetry! Even in my native language, I often get lost in rhymes, but with secondary self-learned English it's much worse. Unfortunately, I will have to pass, but congrats on BOTD!

A fascinating Arthurian legend sounds intriguing.

Thank you for the great review.

Thank you for your review. The Arthurian legend continues to fascinate readers and I have no doubt that this second volume of the series will do the same. As per my usual practice, I shall begin with Volume 1!

"The Lion of Camelot" by Robert Murray is a continuation of the first volume in the Camelot Chronicles series. One of the knights is Arthur's grandson and accordingly he will become Camelot's king. The book is professionally edited.

Hence, it is an epic poem that continues the story in the first volume.
- I used to write poems too, but not of this caliber. So if I'd stopped writing poems, would that make me an ex-caliber?!! Furthermore, I like my vocabulary challenged and I enjoy looking up the meanings of new words. However, this does annoy, as I am one of those
some readers, and looking up so many words in the dictionary, which is necessary to understand the story, is more likely to disrupt the reading flow.
So either I suck it up and look up each of the meanings or just go with the reading flow. The latter for me please, thank you and good job with the review!

Not really a fan of poetry especially one where the vocabulary is large. Great review though.

Readers interested in reading epic poetry focused on Camelot, the life of knights, and Excalibur will surely enjoy reading this book. The introduction was quite long but informative. The book review was impressive.

As a fan of Arthurian legend, I would likely enjoy this book. This is book two of a series, so I would have to read the first book before attempting this one, but having to look up words in a dictionary would not bother me. Nice review!

When I read the title of this book, the first thing that came into my mind was the movie series Merlin. And since I was a fan of Merlin, I would love to read this book. Congrats on the BOTD.

I have read the introduction and a part of the poem, and I agree with the review except that I do not find find the introduction overly lengthy - it is an amazing, exquisite essay by a highly erudite author and it sets the scene for the upcoming epic poem. I absolutely loved every line of both the prose and the verse, and yes, the rhythm is fascinating.

This book seems to have similar plots to movies like Merlin and King Arthur, which have a combination of magic, knights, and war between kingdoms. I wonder how they discovered that one of the knights was Arthur's grandson.

I read the sample copy provided for BODT but your review got me hooked. Bravo! 👏 Well detailed without giving spoilers, I've added this title to my bookshelf.

Stories about Camelot are always fascinating as no two authors write from the same perspective but the central ideas are also bound around, love and loyalty to the throne. This author sure didn't disappoint, his take on the subject is one that I'm sure provokes thoughts. Learning new words as one reads along might be daunting but rewarding.

Where Camelot is concerned, Arthur is mentioned, and conspiracies come in play, please count me in. This book would definitely keep me hooked.
