The story talks about how Matthias wakes up in a hospital in pain without remembering anything until his wife came to visit him. The story also talks about how he plans to take revenge on his enemy who took his face and ten fingers. The characters were well-developed and the plot twist was amazing. Nice review.

Switching between first person and third person narration can be a bit tricky, because the reader might get confused about is happening in the book, but I guess the author did this pretty well. I think the series has a good plot, making the reader stay on the edge of their seat.

Callaghan
Crime thriller. Horror.
Real, tragic, cynical, not to say terrible events and actions that have increased around the world in the last couple of decades: terrorism, people trafficking, drug trafficking, organised crime, illegal immigration, money laundering, corruption, impunity, the worlds first face transplant took place in 2005 in France, after losing his face and all 10 fingers. For convenience sake it’s my wife who does the talking and I do the listening. Many true historic events up to 2018, recent accounts. A penthouse suite near Hyde Park, a butler, nice jewellery, expensive sunglasses and bespoke clothes is all they can get with the money, not worth the crimes done and of course a hospital bed with him having no recollection of having met her, if they were married or any fine details but some vague notion that he must have known her in the past.
3 out of 4
A lot of words with no content.
Congratulations on being BOTD.

I would like to explore how the author handled the topic of someone literally losing their face, as I have never read a book with this theme before.

Despite the fact that I'm not sure how he lost his face and fingers, it is such a horrible incident for him to have lost both. The author did a good job; however, the story is quite captivating and thrilling. It is a tale of retribution. Congrats on BOTD.

I remember reading the first book and thinking it was concluded well and did not need a sequel. It takes a skillful author to close a story and reopen it to make a sequel. This sounds like an interesting collection. Well done on the review.

Challaghan volume 1&2 seems like a book that can be read alone, and it's plot and character development with the author's storytelling is so good. Congratulations on book of the day.

The author knew the second book wasn't a standalone that's why he put them together. The story seems enjoyable. I, too, would love to know how he lost his face and ten fingers. Incredible review you've written. I anticipate reading this book.

There's something about revenge stories that I find fascinating. Losing a face definitely changes how the protagonist identifies himself. To make things worse, he also lost his fingers. I wonder how he manages to claim them again. Congratulations on the BOTD.

It's quite horrid to me to wake up without all ten fingers and a battered face... I can imagine what the protagonist must have felt. At the same time it builds massive suspense. Kudos to the author.
