The world is becoming a more lonely place one day after another. Poppy Mortimer has encountered many unusual occurrences in her search for true love and a good companion, which she tells us all about in 28 Disastrous Dates: A (Mostly True) Humourous Memoir. Do you believe you're having the most difficulty dating, or do you wonder why this is happening to you? Well, think again, or just read this book. You'll know that you're not alone.

What I like the most about this book is the genuine sense of humor the writer has. She could get a good laugh out of even what seemed to be really awkward situations. The writing is fluid and free of boredom. I can say she's a natural. I like that she always found something to learn from those disastrous dates. I honestly salute the writer for her determination. Going through what she's gone through, I don't know if I would have been able to continue. She amazes me with her ability to start a new day with a new hope and let go of the past. Emotional resilience is one of the best qualities. It was nice that the writer tried to stay away from using strong curse words out of respect for her father. I like to see the result of parents teaching their children to respect them and not be afraid of them. She's an adult now, with nothing to be afraid of, but respect remains.

I can't say I hated anything about the book, but I might have some comments. There were times when I wanted to run to the location of the date and beg the writer to do something. I'm not judging. I know that sometimes we freeze due to the surprise of the situation, but some of these guys really deserved a strong reaction that they didn't get. I liked that, with time, the writer started to stand up for herself and take some much-needed action. That was a good step.

I enjoyed the book and found it very entertaining. Therefore, I rate it five out of five stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited. I couldn't find any errors going through its pages.

I recommend this book to every girl out there in the dating world. You must be seeing a lot, and you're not alone. I also highly recommend it for guys who are in the dating pool. Read this to know what you must stay away from.
