I like that the book is a combination of different genres. I feel sympathy toward Cooper, because being abused as a child, especially by the persons you are to feel safe around can have a traumatic effect later in life. Thanks for the review. It was an interesting one.

I can't really believe that such people as Cooper's mother and sister exist. This can have a lasting psychological effect on a child. Nice review!

The story talks about how Cooper who has a mother who didn't care and an abusive stepfather goes to California to mine gold and how he gets to meet Stan, his best friend, and Quinn, his lover. The story contains great suspense, and the characters were well-developed. Great review.

This sounds like an excellent romance-based novel, with intense actions and emotions running through the storyline. Thanks for the descriptive review.

This book is quite interesting. I wonder what Quin must have gone through at the hands of the Sheriff. Did she survive? I would like to read this book because of its interesting plotline. Good review.

Cooper's resilience and determination to overcome a challenging childhood is truly admirable. The fact that he has been able to navigate life and become a well-adjusted individual is a testament to his character and inner strength. This book promises to be a powerful tale of hope, perseverance, and triumph over adversity.

Growing up in an abusive home is something that can destroy your adult hood and your future. I hope Cooper Landry won't turn out a bad individual. Would love to read this book to find out. Congrats on BOTD.

I think Cooper Landry would have reported the physical abuse by his stepfather and sexual abuse by his older sister. I sincerely hope that this don't cause h a whole lot of tragedy in the nearest future. Great review. Congratulations on BOTD.

Just like Cooper Landry, there are a lot of people who grew up in abusive homes. Quite a nice book to read.

I usually enjoy mystery novels but I I can't quite get interested in Cooper's story. The OBC reviewer seemed to enjoy it, though. So maybe other readers would love to read this book.
