A Father's Gift: Book Two⎯ San Antonio Series by Paula J. Peckman is the second fictional novel that depicts the tale of two couples, Manny Blair and Abigail. It centers mostly on Manny's life. Manny grew up without a father or a mother but was raised by Yaideli. Manny had grown up to be a man and was married to Abigail, who was expecting a child. Worried he wouldn't be the best child for his children, Manny sorted out ways to prepare his forthcoming child for a pleasant welcome. Meanwhile, Manny met a man named Gabe, a total stranger, who treated Manny with fatherly love, which he had never known. Manny intends to make peace with his past after his encounter with Gabe; he plans on finding out the cause of his father's death 20 years ago. How would Manny uncover the mystery behind his father's death? Who truly is Gabe? What quest lies ahead for Manny? Find out more when you grab a copy of the novel A Father's Gift: Book Two⎯ San Antonio Series by Paula J. Peckman.

What I love most about this novel are the plot and setting; the novel depicts the lives of true Texans. The horses, the barns, the stables, and the county make it look like a cowboy movie show. I also enjoyed the mystery and hidden identity employed in the novel by the author to create curiosity in the reader. I could stand firmly on this because I was indeed curious to know who Gabe was and why he was so interested in Manny's life. Another point I liked about this novel was the love between Manny and Abigail. They show love, care, and trust for each other in every situation. Manny also did caress his wife despite her pregnancy, and that shows his deep affectionate love.

There was nothing that I disliked about this novel; every chapter was interesting and intriguing to read. The novel was suspenseful, action-packed, and romance-filled, which are the themes I love most about a novel. Every chapter also had something new to offer as I read through it. There were a few grammatical errors, but they didn't affect my readability of this novel; it was fluent and easy to comprehend.

I would give this novel a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed reading it and there was nothing I disliked about it. I would also state that this novel has been professionally edited, as I encountered a few grammatical errors in my process of reading it.

I would recommend this novel to readers who enjoy reading novels in the romance, action, mystery, and suspense genres, as these are the themes employed in the novel by the author.

This sounds like the book has a lot going for it if it is suspensful, action packed and full of romance. I'll consider it for a read in the future.

It seems we share the same interest in story settings. I also love story settings that feature barns and stables, especially with the use of ponies and traps in the plot.
