I am fascinated by the journey Delvin took with Princess Jarla and Fionella in order to save Hengel from war.
I congratulate the author for Book of the Day!

I'm always up for a story with a strong female lead. And you're right; the descriptions of character's appearances are something crucial that we usually take for granted. I hope the author considers your comments for future novels.

I find the dislike interesting - I actually like it when books do not describe everything in detail, and elements are left to the imagination, such as the looks of a character.

I read this book and I do agree the characters could have been better described but the plot was interesting. Great review.

I love a book with suspense. Magic adds extra magic to the plot. Your review is attention-grabbing.

Sounds like an interesting read, based on this review. A good catch, how the age was not clearly stated. That's definitely something, unless stylistically intentional, that should have been dealt with. Nice review.

Accused of murdering his magician friend and mentor, Devlin is sentenced to hang. The magician was still alive and cleared him of the assault before he passed. Devlin and Greg decided to strike out to another town and seek work there with Greg as a groomer and Devlin as a magician. The sample is fast moving with the interest of watching these two young men setting out on their own and, hopefully, solving the mystery of the dark robed man who had accused Devlin of murder. Sounds like an interesting quick read.

I enjoyed reading this book. Any fantasy reader would appreciate the story and all the adventures Delvin experienced along with the other equally fascinating characters.

This book sounds very compelling to read right from the start. Especially as it begins with a murder mystery combined with magic since the magician is the one who is murdered. I wonder who is behind the murder and why Delvin was framed. Congrats on the BOTD!

One can recognize a good book from the first pages. I couldn't stop reading! Even though I am no fan of fantasy, this one is definitely well-written. The action has a fast pace and the characters are well-drawn. Good review as well!
