"Walden 3.0" by Arthur Sullivan & Mary Houghtaling is a story about two friends and a roboticist. Their invention, the robot RT9, becomes indispensable when treating various mental health issues. The book is professionally edited.

I find the idea of using AI for therapy really scary. I think I would rather concentrate on the romantic aspect of the book!

This is one of the most well-written and insightful reviews I've come across. Nicely done. And I checked out a few chapters of the book. Although the novel is nicely written, I've had my fill lately with books about A.I., so I'm going to take a pass. Nevertheless, I'm pleased to congratulate Sullivan and Houghtaling on their achievement!

Artificial intelligence is a complex topic to write anything about. Robotic self-awareness is something that has been discussed since the early days of technology and Walden 3.0 takes on a physiological and moral discussion in this science fiction novel.

I must admit, doing psychotherapy with a robot seems fundamentally wrong for me. I use artificial intelligence daily and enjoy it but there are some limits. Nevertheless, you never know what we will experience in 20 years from now, so maybe reading this book would be a good exercise of imagination.

Robots for psychotherapy- a really fascinating one. It's also refreshing to know that there is romantic aspect of the science fiction. Thanks for the great review. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

As a fan of Asimov, this book has me intrigued. It sounds like a very interesting novel looking not only at AI but also at psychotherapy. Sci-fi is a genre I love, so I will definitely be adding this one to my shelves, and the great review makes me want to read it even more!

I can't imagine myself or a family member being treated by robots. Hard pass. I don't like the idea of robots being used in place of humans in the medical field. I know it's science fiction, but it still makes me uncomfortable.

As a (retired) librarian who saw her chosen profession altered over the years by the adoption of technology, I found the premise of this novel fascinating, if not a little disturbing. The thought of a robot taking the place of a human therapist, for all its virtues, is unsetling. I'm now currently seeing a therapist and I gain from the in-person contact with her. Even Zoom sessions (during Covid) with a previous social worker were less productive.

That being said, your review does an excellent job of describing the plot and characters. Even though science fiction is not my thing (although I read and found interesting such novels as Flowers for Algernon that fall in the category of scientific and technological intervention), you make the book sound intriguing. Thank you for a thorough review of Walden 3.0.

This should be very interesting, especially the clinical psychology part. But I find myself wondering to which hights RT9 will evolve. I am definitely reading this one. Thank you for the review.

What makes scientific fictional novels interesting is a bit of romance in it and that also makes it enjoyable reading the review. Great one.

I was attracted to the cover image, but this book also sounds like the contents will be good. I enjoy a nice sci-fi once in a while, so I may have to check this one out.

A look into artificial intelligence and its potential positive impact is definitely a fresh take, and so relevant at this time when AI is coming farther than it ever has before.

A very informative review that confirms my initial impression of this book as an exciting read. I am also happy to learn from the review that the science-fiction element prevails in the book over romance, although I did find Dr. McGann's training to date by RT9 beta hilarious.
