Her Own Legacy (Château de Verzat) was written by Debra Borchert. The Verzats had owned the vineyard since 1515. They produce the finest wine, "Château de Verzat," in France. Joliette has one goal: to maintain and keep the Verzat legacy. She tried to put her interest in the Verzat legacy, which her papa had little interest in. Her papa was more interested in American democracy. Joliette has to look for a husband who loves the winery as she does. If not, she risks inheriting the Verzat legacy. Irrespective of this, her mama needed her to marry a noble with higher status.

A riot has happened in France; Henri's friend Bertrand has passed away due to this ongoing unrest. Henri must now protect himself and his sister from this man, André de Cassard, and fly to America for safety, respecting and fulfilling their papa's last words.

The book has a lot of good points that can be discussed. The Verzat legacy holds this book in a way that can't be sufficiently expressed. It gave the book a sense of genuineness that made it stand out. The book's central theme was centered on Joliette's struggle to preserve her most prized heritage, Verzat's legacy. Joliette played a unique role in this book. She was tenacious, brave, and kind. There came a time when she had to let those around her save and guard her. But how is this feasible, given that she knows her lack of submissive attributes?

Also, one lovely thing about this book is the continuous discussion about Château de Verzat. The book is delightful; I could feel every scenario. In more concrete ways, the setting of the book was real. I adore that the book was based on actual historical practices of life. To draw in outstanding suitors, ladies were schooled in high standards of etiquette throughout this period, and things were done in a noble manner. It was excellent and enticing to read about the characters' courtesies, modesty, and nobility levels. I long for the time when women were more mindful of proper behavior.

The book discusses some significant historical themes, like the royals and nobility's oppression of the poor, women's incapacity to obtain an education, and their inability to present themselves as successful businesswomen in public. These were all covered in this book.

I enjoy my reading, including the style of writing. There was nothing I found disturbing about this book. While reading, I discovered just a few errors. Her Own Legacy (Château de Verzat) by Debra Borchert seems professionally edited and well written. This book merits a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It satisfies all criteria for a perfect score. This intriguing book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys reading historical fiction. Also, this book is great for winemakers.

I loved reading your review. Historical fiction as well as non-fiction are one of my favorites. I sincerely wish that ladies are still being schooled into high standards of etiquette as this book portrays. Then, I believe the world would have less of divorce rates. I really would love to read this book.
