Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Matthew Tysz's We are Voulhire:A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a science fiction book that narrates the story of kingdoms, their rulers and their people. In this book, you will explore the themes of war, family, inheritance, discovery, trust and more. This book is engaging and worth reading.
Galen Bray escapes from the land of princes due to the unending war and chaos. Thanks to a captain, he can get to his late uncle's town called Magnum Caelum. He starts a new life with the little wealth and property left by his uncle and continues the blacksmith business, to keep the legacy of his late uncle. At the beginning of this book, Matthew narrates what transpired between Lord Orlin and Meldorath as a flashback. They were once the rulers of Hillport before Lord Eldus was assigned by King Wilhelm to take over after his predecessors didn't do their jobs well. To know how Galen's new life turned out and if Lord Eldus brought any change to Hillport, get a copy of this book and start reading.
There are so many things I love about this book but I will try my best to mention just a few of them. First, I must commend the author for providing a reference guide which will help readers who are not similar to some terms used in the book. Furthermore, I admired Lord Eldus and his family, though they were not perfect, they handled the political matters of Hillport very well. It was an all-hands-on-deck job, with everyone, including his children. His desire to carry out his duty as the new Lord was very admirable.
I found Marshus to be a confident and outspoken character in this book. I always found myself eager to know his next step. Again, I like the detailed description of every aspect of the book, especially Galen's blacksmith work. Furthermore, it was easy to understand each character because their names were used as chapters. This helped me avoid misplacing the roles of each character.
I learned a lot from this book and thoroughly enjoyed it too. I did not dislike any aspect of this book. Because of the positive aspects mentioned above, I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I recommend We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies to readers who are lovers of fictional books and books about wars too. I will recommend this book to people who are interested in learning blacksmith skills.
