Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
A cat named Inca, together with her friends, make up the main cast of this children's book. When Missy (Inca's mother), a cheese maker who had recently invented her own distinctive cheese, was selected to be one of the judges for the French pastry competition in South Korea, everyone was excited. There, Missy will have the opportunity to share her unique cheese with the world. When mom met Enzo, one of the chosen judges, at the airport, she was disappointed to find the cheese had disappeared. Then this gives Inca and her team a chance to show off how good they are at solving crimes. Is the cheese going to be returned? Will the team led by Inca discover the missing cheese?
Furthermore, the cat detectives make new acquaintances and travel to some wonderful places after arriving in South Korea. The animals closely monitor events and pay attention to what people are saying. One evening, they set out on a perilous expedition to aid their new pals. Can they hope to be successful? Suppose they don't—what will happen? Check out this book to learn more.
All of the book's events and narrative twists are plausible, and it's wonderful how R.F. Kristi used the lives of the people to contextualize that dramatic region of the world in order to explain the conflict between North and South Korea. Readers can get a sense of what it's like to live there through this book. As a way to promote peace, the cheese competition, which included chefs from both North and South Korea, was a great way to give this book a more international feel by using real-world events to shape the story.
The reader will feel as though they are in the Korean countryside because of the exquisitely written descriptions of it. I loved some moments in the story. For instance, Inca slides and slithers across the airport's shiny, smooth floor, which is one of the book's many endearing moments. A cat or even a young toddler would definitely want to do something like this.
I found no errors in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi as I read it, which is proof that the editing was exceptionally well done. Children older than five should read this book, in my opinion. Readers who enjoy short stories and light books would also enjoy this book because it is exciting to read. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because I didn't find anything wrong with it.
