Growing up, one could question whether dreams are ever realized. In his autobiography, A Dream For Peace, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah wrote a touching account of his life. The author, a political activist from Algeria who has lost all of his brothers, is his parents' lone surviving son. Having witnessed the suffering and injustice his countrymen endured as children at the hands of their colonial master, France, he wanted freedom and peace for his people. He was able to persuade others to share this vision along the way, and with the same conviction, they battled for their people's independence. The author, a well-known revolutionary, battled for Afro-Arab nationalism. He married a Christian and was a Muslim, which speaks a lot about the kind of person he is. For the citizens of Algeria and all of Africa, this book is crucial. I was moved by the author's tenacious struggles to free his country from French oppression. In the contemporary world, people of his sort are uncommon. Making sacrifices and volunteering to fight for their people's freedom takes a lot of guts. With what the author has accomplished after all the challenges he endured as a child, this book is mind-capturing. The author possesses a wide range of abilities, including those of a scientist who conducted research and developed reverse transcriptase enzymes, a physician, and an ambassador who attracted visitors from all around Africa. His zeal for achieving his goals as well as all these accomplishments have me very impressed. The author's life experiences, the fact that he is a Muslim, and how he connected with so many people of all beliefs have also taught and inspired me. What a wonderful life and a wonderful book!

There were numerous lessons to be learned from this book, but I must first applaud the author for his commitment to bringing peace to the African continent. I appreciate the writing style since it holds the reader's attention from start to finish. I could picture the author's point of view, and he included real-world illustrations in the book to help the reader visualize his ideas. I must also express my gratitude to the author for opening my eyes to the injustice and agonizing struggle that Africans faced at the hands of their colonial oppressors. Despite everything they put him through, he continued to be motivated to achieve more.

I didn't think there was anything to dislike about the book after reading such an uplifting narrative. It was a delight to read a fantastic book filled with grandeur, even though it was lengthy but well worth the time. This is the book that will motivate readers to consider how they may advance the growth of their nations. The memoir will help the world since the author is selfless, disciplined, and serious about his intentions.

Since I couldn't identify any grammatical or typographical flaws in this book, I must applaud the editor for a job well done. I will state that the book was exceptionally well edited, and as a result, I rate this book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. I advise political activists looking for motivation to pick up a copy of this memoir and draw from the author's experiences. A historian who wants to learn more about colonial history in Africa should also read this book, in my opinion.

Dr Ghoulem Berrah is an Icon and legend for the people of Algeria. He sacrificed alot for the freedom of his beloved country, and that is very inspirational. I admire the fact that he resigned from his job as a professor in the United states, to become an activist and freedom fighter. Not all heroes wear Cape.
