Sean sounds like an interesting character and I hope he does find out the truth about what happened to his patient. Lovely review.

I don't often pick sequels on my first time to try a series. However, this book may prove otherwise. The suspense and mystery about a doctor's dead patient will raise suspicions for readers who love thrillers. The easy relationship between Dr. Sean and his friends contrasts the intensity of the situation, and it adds to the comic relief in this story. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Plenty much tension. I enjoyed how the narrative began with a kidnapping. After work, Dr. Nolan is on his way home when he is picked up by two men he recognizes. You need read the rest of the novel to learn what happens to him and the circumstances surrounding his kidnapping.

I have been searching for medical mysteries a la Robin Cook's works. Have I found the "holy grail" with this series? Dr. Nolan seems to be an interesting medic, and the absence of erotica is very welcome. Doctoring with Dr. Nolan should be exciting.

The book sounds interesting and I already got intrigued having read the blurb at Amazon. Having read the review I got convinced that this is the right book for me: lots of suspense, mystery, action and thinking. I wonder where Dr. Nolan's suspicions will lead him to. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting mystery novel following Dr. Nolan who gets involved in the disappearance of one of his patients whose body goes missing when their car is found submerged in the Kalama River. Will Dr. Nolan find out what happened? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This review definitely convinced me to read "Contrived"! I'm pretty new to mystery driven stories, so this book could be an interesting pick for me to delve into and enjoy. One of the things that I'm really passionate about when reading a story is the character development and their significance to the plot, I love when they introduce characters with important roles that I can relate to or appreciate how well handled they are. I can tell this story definitely has that from your review! Also the use of real life experiences (in this case the author's medical background) to explain plot points or new ideas is definitely appreciated as it further develops the understanding if the reader to the situation portrayed. Really smart! Thank you for your review!
