Kate Daniel series rocks!

Post by Xantos »

Has anyone read the Kate Daniel series? Its about a young PD in Atlanta, Georgia in a world that is not exactly post apocalyptic. The world is a swinging pendulum with both magic and technology. It used to be in balance way back when, but when technology took its way, the pendulum had swung way too far towards it and soon it swung back to magic. Now the days and weeks go back and forth between when magic is full swing and anything technological, including guns and modern buildings, either don't work at all, or begins to crumble. I loved being in this world that was both familiar and strange. Top series I have ever read! You learn about the people who before had to hide what they were when technology was in full swing, and now that magic comes and goes, they were able to come out of hiding. Not only that, but the series also works with different cultural myths. You learn so much about different cultures and their individual myths and legends. They are a very fun read. I highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys and I give them a five out of five stars!

Five? Better say TEN!

Oh, it's a seriously rocking series, isn't it? Almost all of my reading buddies had recommended it to me, but I only got my hands on the first book last month. Right now I'm near the end of the 2nd, and I'm loving every minute of it! I don't care that I'm a woman, I would honestly marry Kate any day of the week. She's the best heroine I have encountered in a long time!

I have a major problem with the main love interest, though (not naming him, I don't know if it's considered as spoilers), but they told me I'm gonna like him the most in the next books - let's hope so.
I read, therefore I am.

Oh you will love ever second of the love interest when you get to it. They are an incredibly dynamic duo. Trust me. I've read and reread the series several times.

Really now? Thank God! I thought something was wrong with me, everyone kept gushing over how amazing they are together, and I was like "Are you kidding me?! He humiliates her and is an arrogant you-know-what! I wish she runs him through with Slayer!"

But the last chapters of the second book gave me another side of his I didn't know, so maybe you're right and all will be well. Hopefully he'll keep rising in my eyes.

My personal favorite is Derek. He's so cute in his young manliness, I just wanna squeeze him~ :D

Other than Kate (cause, really, who doesn't like Kate?!), who is your favorite character?

I do really love Curran. He is really funny once you understand his quirks. Another favorite is one of the hyenas but I forgot his name...

Hyenas? Hmmm, so far, the only males I know of are Raphael and Ascanio(the latter through a spoiler from a friend). Is it any of those two?

Raphael that's it. I found him to be lovable in his own way.

Haha, you're right! It's actually nice to see a guy who is not necessarily handsome but oozes sexiness ;)

By the way, considering the way hyenas are about their sex drive, I wonder what would happen if we "accidentally" dropped an open box of blue pills in the kitchen

Yeah, me neither - at least if it was on 1st person. But if someone was to get it on camera, I would seriously pay to watch it! :P

Let's make it even crazier. Add Andrea in this mess - sober. And let her pull out the "party starter" (I think she had a gun named like this). Throw Raphael in - not sober. Let the awesomeness begin ~
