Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill transports you more than 200 years into the future. As seen in this novel, independence and anonymity are faraway concepts. We learn about artificial intelligence in this novel, along with how it might alter civilization.

Kim, the protagonist of the story, is a driven worker at the Artificial Intelligence Corporation with a bright future. Despite her achievements, Kim is restricted in some ways because a component of her work involves instructing simple computers, which lack free will. Outside of work, Kim lives in a society where civil rights have been abolished and every aspect of life is examined and evaluated, including her appearance, nutrition, sexual partners, when they have children, the topics they discuss, the music they like, and the television shows they watch. The penalties for violating the laws that the hierarchy and AI create are swift and severe. She and other trannies were given the task of teaching AIs that resemble people after being given the ability to clone themselves into an AI. The storyline changes when Kimberly Jefferson Haley, an AI that Kim developed, appears. They converse, argue, and argue some more while fleeing the confines of the manufactured world of order. Kimberly teaches Kim about society's secrets.

I loved that Kim's compelling life story captured me and kept me turning pages. Another element of this novel that I enjoyed was how unpredictable the plot was. It was impossible to anticipate the ending or the course the narrative would take, so I was astounded by every twist and revelation. Overall, a fantastic read that readers who like tales with themes of artificial intelligence will surely appreciate. I loved how the author also touched on issues about human rights and how AI can be used to exploit them.

I had no negative opinions about this book. The novel was a pleasure to read from beginning to end, thanks to Craig W.'s excellent writing. The book explores the notion of a world carefully constrained by laws and rules, one that is quite comparable to contemporary society. It examines the results of deviating from the accepted norm. It also emphasizes the concept of community, which contemporary culture shares in less apparent ways.

I awarded this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of the reasons I listed above, and I must commend the author for a job well done. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I recommend this book to anyone interested in artificial intelligence, adventure, and mystery.
