After defeating the Dark Emperor, Rella and Dagstyrr, Rella's sworn human mate, set sail for Hedabar to free the fae and dragons held captive by the Vizier. Sadly, Billy, driven insane by being abandoned as a child and then being abused by the light fae, turned on Bernst, mortally wounding him. The only way for Bernst to survive was to be healed by the Crystal Mountain healers of the light fae, who could also cure Billy's madness. Although Rella hated being used as a test subject for possessing both light and dark magic, she offered herself to the healers, hoping they would help both Bernst and Billy. However, she knew she would be at their mercy for testing, which could prove fatal if she survived Hedabar. Dagstyrr would never allow her to face either fate. Will they defeat the Vizier? Will Rella be at the mercy of the Crystal Mountain Healers after the war? Find out in Jane Armor's Dragon Fae.

I can't find the right words to express how amazing this book is. Jane's storytelling is masterful. From the very beginning, everything seemed perfect. All of the main characters are well-developed, and even minor characters are given enough information to understand them better. Jane has skillfully made this book a standalone novel while also connecting it to the previous installments in the "Fae" series. I was curious about how such powerful, magical dragons could be captured by the Vizier. Fortunately, the author provided a backstory that helped me connect all the dots. Furthermore, Jane kept me guessing and hooked to the book by continually adding complexities—like when Lord Pedris sided with the Vizier, working to ensure not only Rella's and Dagstyrr's failure but also that all dragons were dead. This put Rella's and Dagstyrr's plan in a difficult position.

I also loved the relationship between Rella and Dagstyrr. Even through their weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and inadequacies, they clung to each other strongly. I admired how they went to great lengths to fight for each other. Their deep connection is apparent throughout the book, especially when King Calstir of Casta, Rella's brother, kidnapped Rella to use her as leverage to get Drago's egg. It was heartbreaking to see how Rella's abduction affected them both, but the love and care they showed each other during that time were heartwarming.

I don't have any major complaints about this book. However, I do have a very minor observation: it wasn't clear to me why Rella was repeatedly labeled as someone who couldn't keep her word. Throughout the book, I didn't see anything she did that justified that label. I plan to read the previous installments not only to find out why but also to keep tabs on the rest of the story. In my opinion, this book deserves 5 out of 5 stars, and I would give it a higher rating if possible for the above reasons. I don't see why I should rate it lower. If you enjoy surreal fantasy books that feature dragons and magic, I highly recommend this book to you. It's similar to "The House of Dragons" movie series but even better.

Why there is abduction in the first place? Why Rella? It looks like there are a lot of revelations in this book. I like how detailed your review is, Maxreview!

Rella sounds like a kindhearted fella. Willing to be used just so her friends could be healed. Thanks for the review!

Rella found herself in a difficult situation in this novel set in a world full of magic and magical creatures. I'll look into this series. Thank you for your great review!
