Are you in need of a healthy dose of humor, laughter, mystery, and adventure? If so, then waste no more time, board Doctoroo's plane, and fly to Hawaii to help her and her friends solve an important medical mystery case.

After receiving an urgent text message from Gertie Goose, Dr. Marsha Roo (aka Doctoroo) and her crew of friends (Kirby Koala, Terence Toad, and Louie Llama) stop playing rugby and immediately board Doctoroo's private plane to fly from Australia to the Big Island of Hawaii. When they arrive, they notice that there is something wrong with three young pigs that are practicing the hula for the Big Dance Festival. They keep scratching their arms, and their skin is red and feels hot to the touch. Will Doctoroo and her crew be able to figure out what is wrong with the dancers' skin and help them recover in time for the festival?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Doctoroo & the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians by Dr. Rachel B. Wellner. The humorous dialogue made me smile a lot as I immersed myself in the story. Also, kudos to the talented illustrator of this book, Irina Dringova, for creating vivid, hilarious illustrations that did a great job of helping tell the story by bringing vibrant places and unique characters to life.

I do not doubt that children will like the characters; I found them funny, honest, and relatable. For example, Kirby Koala had no problem letting Doctoroo know that he found it dangerous to climb a volcano; in fact, after making sure Doctoroo no longer needed him, he wasted no time in scurrying down the volcano. My favorite character was Terence Toad, a vivacious toad whose curiosity often got him into trouble. I found myself laughing out loud when he got tangled in the web of Spencer the Banana Spider.

I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Rachel B. Wellner's book. I appreciated that the book was exceptionally edited; I encountered no errors while reading the story. The author has crafted an engaging story that will help children understand how important it is to keep their skin healthy. Furthermore, it will teach them about the importance of teamwork, patience, and perseverance.

Because of the vivid illustrations, lively characters, and humorous dialogue, I am extremely pleased to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend it to young readers between the ages of 4 and 8. Anyone interested in reading children's literature will be delighted to read this amusing and educational story, too.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to climb a volcano. I just might read this book to find out why Doctoroo and her crew did. This is a fantastic review.
