Craig W. Stanfill's Terms of Service is a work of fiction set in a futuristic community where technology reigns supreme. The story revolves around the life of the protagonist, Kim, who trains Artificial Intelligence and automatons that lack independent thinking. To avoid attracting attention to herself, Kim lives a life of strict adherence to the rules of various companies, including those for transportation, food, and clothing. However, Kim's life is not entirely her own, and she discovers that it was predetermined and designed for a specific purpose. When things go awry, those in control intervene in her life to correct the deviation from their plan.

Her childhood best friend, Shan, was separated from her, only to be reunited as part of a manipulation tactic to push Kim's curiosity to the limit. As a result, Kim discovered the world's true nature, filled with deceit and lies. The company then offered her an uncomfortable deal, which she accepted due to desperation and ambition. With the help of her beloved Artificial Intelligence, Kimberly, Kim uncovered hidden truths about herself and the company. Her defiance increased, but she struggled with the idea of losing everything and everyone she cared about in her quest for freedom.

The author's ability to make the virtual reality world of Artificial Intelligence relatable to the real world is commendable. This made it challenging to mistake an AI character for an actual person. The detailed description of the environment kept the readers' imagination engaged, allowing them to feel as though they were part of the experience. Additionally, all AI-related terms used in the story were clearly defined, making it easy for readers to understand the context. I loved this book.
I found nothing to dislike about this book; it was thoroughly captivating, easy to read, and comprehensive. The story highlights the idea that comfort does not guarantee happiness, and that human curiosity and freedom are essential for individuality to flourish. This mirrors our society, where despite accomplishments, people may feel unfulfilled until they have the freedom to express themselves uniquely. However, with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the strict enforcement of rules by leaders or AI themselves, such expression becomes increasingly challenging.

I highly rate this book with a score of 5 out of 5 stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited and free from errors. I strongly recommend this book to readers who have an interest in science fiction, technology, artificial intelligence, and adventure.
