Review of Reconfigurement
Contrary to popular belief, E. Alan Fleischauer's book, Reconfigurement, explores the possibility of one happily working even in their golden years of retirement. Of course, the mere mention of working during retirement may elicit negative emotions in most people, but this may imply pursuing a career or job that is more of a hobby than a responsibility or task. He uses his financial expertise to provide real-time data, facts, and arguments to support his claims. The ultimate goal is to get the reader to make enough money doing what they enjoy for a longer period of time.
Because of his writing ability, reading this book felt almost like having a live conversation with the author. And the book's constant sense of humor was very refreshing. He illustrated some of his points with real-life stories from his friends. These added to the book's authenticity and relatability. To plan is to reconfigure. Its definition in this novel is "to plan one's financial life. "The author succinctly described the benefits of creating a retirement plan while we still have the opportunity to do so. The book also included some assessment tests, which I found quite insightful. The author advocates for sound financial practices such as spending wisely, saving, and budgeting.
I felt as though the book was not properly diversified. The author only focused on America and its citizens, which is understandable given that he is based in America, and thus had no effect on my rating. This was not your typical self-help book. This one was much better and more enjoyable. It made you want to learn about money.
This book receives a five out of five rating from me because I could not find a single reason to deduct any points. The book is well-edited and fascinating. I honestly look forward to reading more of the author's books and works. He really got my attention with just this book.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a particular interest in finance and lifestyle. This book taught me a lot about finance that I didn't know about. As a financial counselor with years of experience, the author wrote this book with wit. He clearly illustrates his points and even provides examples. This book is not limited to any age group. It contains no explicit content or language. I've never been a big reader of financial books, but Reconfigurement received a lot of positive feedback, which piqued my interest. And I wasn't disappointed after reading it. Above all, I would strongly recommend this book to a young person who is just starting out in life and possibly already working. This book will help them ensure they are on the right track.
