I was instantly drawn in by the book's title and cover image. I like how Jack is presented as an average person who becomes involved in an extraordinary situation when he finds the diamonds. I can understand your point about the dialogue describing the action scenes in a vague manner. I also see your point about some of the chapters being too short and disrupting the flow. That can become irritating while you are reading.

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I don't think this one is for me as I didn't really get into the story sampling the book. Perhaps because I'm not in the mood right now for a thriller or suspense. I don't really understand why if Jack is such a good guy he even needed to consider what to do about the diamonds. That's just me. I'm sure others will enjoy it too though.

It's never a good idea to get in between a crime boss and their diamonds! I can't wait to see how Jack fares in this thriller.

This sounds like an intriguing storyline about two men who lead ordinary lives uncovering something extraordinary. How exciting finding diamonds on a train. I wonder who they belong to and what they'll do to locate them. Thanks for the informative review.

I would like to read this book to know what happened to Jack. If he managed to get away with the diamonds or not. I also loved the spice, suspense and details your review contained. Nice review. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

A crime thriller that follows a protagonist who found a box of diamond that belongs to a crime boss. This seems like an action-packed read. Not my cup of tea but congrats on BOTD!

I like the unpredictability of the book. What happens to Bev is shocking, it also shows that anything can happen in this story. Thanks for the free book. And congratulations on BOTD.

This sounds like an interesting book, especially considering that the woman Bev is killed. I also agree with your perspective on short chapters - they do tend to be very disruptive to the flow of the story. Thank you for a great review.

You wrote a nice review. I like how you outlined the plot and the honest feel of the review. I wish you had not told us that Bev dies, but I have not read the book so, maybe it doesn't matter. Thank you for your work.

I would love to know how Jimmy stole the diamond box from the crime boss, Benny, and how or why he left it on the train before Jack stumbled on it. The Devil's Ice seems to have a lot of twists and turns, so I assume it would be an interesting book to read.
