Communication is really very important. The way the book has many authors is clearly a sign that it can't have any errors. The review was awesome. Thank you. :tiphat:

It emphasizes the importance of active listening, nonverbal communication, conflict resolution, empathy, and assertiveness in building healthy relationships. By practicing these skills, individuals can improve their communication and foster stronger, more meaningful connections with others.

You know the importance of a thing when you see the effort put to get it to the public space. The issue of effective communication in modern time has become so important that three authors had to throw their weight on this one. I look forward to reading this book.

The sample pages discussed how a person's quality of life is related to personal health. It spoke about how diseases, eating habits, lifestyle, etc., can positively or negatively impact your physical and mental health. Although I agree that the language employed was pretty simple, the information was so comprehensive that I couldn't forge ahead much further. Congrats on the BOTD, though!

I agree that tools of communication are greatly needed, in our current society as well as those in the past. I am curious what research the book called upon to make insinuations about our modern-day communication vs. in the past, and how we can see its detrimental effects. While the claims regarding the downfalls of our current communication seem a little overly dramatic, it’s hard to argue with being rooted in empathy and care. I’m curious to read more of this book.

A breakdown in communication often serves as the precursor to the deterioration of human relationships. The book in question appears to possess great potency and has piqued my interest.

I’m not sure I agree with the authors when they say communication is the worst it has ever been. With all the means we have to communicate now and also more people are more open to communication than last generations as well.

And bought our pretty crowns, but never paid the price

Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

I like that empathy is emphasized as it is important in any relationship. If you are emphatic you will also have good communication skills. Thank you for your review!

Communication is key so we say, but then we are not good at effecting this. I liked the book from the title and the review does this book justice. This book is more than a self help book because it aims to aid all of us on aspects of proper and effective communication.

I don't understand what is meant by lack of communication. We have more ways to communicate and keep in touch than ever before. And if people are not empathetic or are unsympathetic indeed, that's in their makeup and is unlikely to change. This isn't a book that interests me. Thank you for the great review!

Keys to Healthy Communication is a deep dive into basic concepts underlying conditions that are essential to effective, healthy communication. The discussion and examples span personal, interpersonal, political and business perspectives while emphasizing the interplay among all these arenas. The material is fresh, topical and easily applied to this wide range of situations where healthy communication is critical to success. The information presented is thoroughly researched and supported by studies and facts across the spectrum of experts in relevant social and medical sciences. A distinguishing feature of this book is an emphasis on the interplay of physical, mental, emotional and relationship health to overall healthy communication at all levels of society. Readability and understanding are aided by a well-timed sprinkling of tips, cartoons, summary tables and anecdotal examples throughout. Following the extensive exploration of what have been identified as healthy communication basics, the authors then offer practical guidance and advice for personal, real-world application of their findings to improve the overall health of individuals, organizations and society.
