Review of Frustrating Fascination
[Following is a volunteer review of "Frustrating Fascination" by Debra Mckenzie.]
Sean, a middle-aged man in his mid-forties, is struggling to find his footing after being dealt a devastating blow by fate. After years of wallowing in sadness, frustration, and anger due to the circumstances of his divorce, he is suddenly thrust into his ex-wife's shoes. He is forced to contend with the realities of living a life that defies societal norms and the pain of living in self-denial. Was he truly experiencing life from his ex-wife's perspective, or was he simply coming to know a part of himself that had been suppressed? As Sean grapples with his new perspective, he finally sees himself for who he truly is and who he could have been if he had shown more empathy and kindness.
