The first book in a to-be-completed fantasy romance (RH) series, See a Witch about a Curse, by Loen Hussain follows a solitary witch named Azalea who works the graveyard shift in an isolated gas station. One shift, a man comes in to buy ice for a friend with a fever. After overhearing him on the phone, she recommends some medicinal herbs that could help. After her shift, despite second guessing herself, she creates a tea blend from her garden and takes it back to the gas station leaving it with her coworker in case the man returns. After a few days, he does show up while she is working, and to her surprise is able to tell that she is a witch. Turns out, he is a werewolf (Lycan) as is his friend, sick from a curse by another witch. Despite witches and werewolves generally being enemies and her likely having to move due to discovery, Azalea’s desire to help gets her pulled into this family of four werewolves. They learn that she is a shaman, or alpha witch, and has extensive knowledge of herbs and magic. As they work together to break the curse, their trust in each other grows, and relationships begin to form.

This book is narrated in the first person point of view. There is significant internal dialogue, creating a complex and interesting main character. The story is very descriptive and there is great attention to detail, for example the description of Azalea's cottage, or the plants in her garden. Despite being a RH romance novel, there was virtually no sexual content in this book, however it does build the relationships between the characters and allude to more to come in future books, as well as hinting at more than friendship between the four werewolves.

I feel that this book deserves a 5 out of 5 rating. The story immediately hooked me, and was super fun to read. I loved Azalea and found her very relatable. It was well written, and the inner monologue of the main character was easy to follow and entertaining. I was never bored and am eager for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens next!
