A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir of the author's life about the part he played in the independence of the Algerian nation. Being born in Algeria during the time of the colonial master is already a disadvantage to the people, and seeing this as a little kid, Dr. Ghoulem Berra, also known as Aziz, has always disliked the colonial masters and their system of rules. But what can a little boy do about that?

Being a very bright student, Aziz received a scholarship to study at the university anywhere of his choice, and he chose to study medicine in Bordeaux. On getting to France, he met like-minded people from different African countries who were also under the colonial rule of France, and together they formed different associations for the liberation of their countries from colonial rulers. How would they succeed with the task? Read this book to find out.

If you are a lover of history and are willing to learn a thing or two about different African countries and their struggle for independence, I would recommend you read this book because it contains vital information and lessons that are mind-blowing. I was able to learn a thing or two from Aziz's life as a student, and his secret for always being the best at whatever he does is also revealed in this book. Above all, I was able to realize that fighting for freedom necessitates immense sacrifice, bravery, passion, and perseverance.

I see no reason why anyone who decides to read this book will not be impacted in some way. Considering the many positive aspects of this book, I will not fail to acknowledge the author for his bravery in writing about almost every part of his life, both the good and bad sides. Another aspect of this book that makes it so easy and fun to read is the writing style and storyline, and this book is perfectly divided into seventeen interesting chapters that will pique the interest of every reader.

The only negative aspects I could notice in this book were a few grammatical errors, and given that they did not slow down my reading in any way, I don't see any reason to dislike the book or remove a rating star. There were no typos that I could notice, showing that this book is well edited. In light of this, I would give the book a rating of five out of five stars. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in knowing a thing or two about the liberation of Algeria and other African countries.

Ghoulem is an amazing activist. I doubt it so much if we can have a man like him in this generation. This is a book that generations to come need to learn from. Great review.
