Pete Hall’s Always Strive to Be a Better You is an intriguing self-development book that takes a unique approach to teaching productivity and goal-setting. Rather than relying on theories and abstract concepts, Hall interviews seven ordinary people from various fields such as education, sports, and art to uncover their secrets to success. Readers learn personally about the experiences, viewpoints, and techniques that each of these extraordinarily ordinary people used to attain their goals through his discussions with them.

The book is organized around four tenets—the value of knowing oneself, working for love, letting one’s light shine, and ruling the day—each with a set of key takeaways supported by real-life examples of people who have successfully applied them. Chapter by chapter, Hall introduces readers to each of the seven interviewees and their stories, including their failures, successes, and lessons learned.

I must say that Hall’s book was an exceptional read. The author’s use of ordinary, normal people to illustrate the various concepts discussed really stood out to me. This made the book feel more relatable and genuine, and this reliability was bolstered by the inclusion of pictures of these individuals. Another aspect of the book that I found impressive was the templates provided on the author’s website to help readers apply the lessons from the book.

But what really sealed the deal for me was the book’s conversational tone and style, which felt more akin to watching interviews with accomplished and successful individuals than reading a book. Additionally, the use of sports analogies and animal examples, such as rabbits and antelopes, helped to illustrate concepts in a relatable way. On a more technical note, I was also pleased to not encounter a single typo or grammatical error throughout my reading. This is a rare feat in today’s publishing world. There was nothing I hated about this book.

All of these factors and more led me to give Always Strive to Be a Better You five out of five stars. This book is a must-read for anyone who is serious about personal growth and development. The author’s practical advice, coupled with the real-life stories, templates, and reflection questions, makes for a comprehensive, engaging, and transformative reading experience. Kudos to Pete Hall for creating such a gem of a book!

The title is really striking because it causes a synchronic feeling with the readers. Everyone wants to be a better version of themselves, so the key points listed in it will be great to read. I like how you've shown what sealed the deal for you, it sounds nice. Great review!
