Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by K.F. Kristi is a children's book narrating the detective action of animals: a cat family and a dog family. Inca, the Siberian kitty cat, was the team leader. She befriended Terrance, the Korean dog, when she accompanied her human mother, Missy, to Korea. The French cookery school invited Missy. She was to judge the Le Cordon Bleus competition between South and North Korean chefs. Why would she be invited to judge the competition? Was she an experienced chef? Terrance was in the company of her master, Solo, searching for her long-gone sister. Would one family bring harmony and peace? This new friendship marked the beginning of a turn of events. What comes next? Threats? Peace? New hope?

It is an entertaining book to read. To begin with, the character of the Inca, the super duper cat, provokes a lot of humor, mainly in how she expresses herself, with her conversations dominated by bravery and pride. Again, the interactions, collaboration, and cooperation between the cat family and a dog family portrays the achievements that can come upon harmonious coexistence in society, attributes that humans should borrow and adopt. Moreover, pictorial presentation and graphical illustrations are enticing, making it easy to follow for children. Furthermore, the author employs a lot of creativity in scheming the plots about detectives, evident in her books within The Inca Cat Detective Series, remarkably Cat Detective in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat.

Too much background information is burdening to children eager to grasp the flow of the story.

I rate this book five out of five stars. The storyline is well-thought, compelling, and captivating, mainly on the progress of the animal detective. Once more, the book's editing is exceptional.

I recommend this book to pet keepers and pet-loving readers. The narratives show the friendly nature of pet animals: cats and dogs.
