Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Always pray for a competent leader, no matter what kingdom, nation, city, or country you are from. We must acknowledge that our leaders sometimes do not lead us in the most effective way we hope they will. The novel We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz has a storyline that talks about the country of Voulhire and the happenings in its cities.
The city of Hillport has endured a series of leaders whose reign brought its citizens nothing but evil and fear. Their Lord Orlin was accused of atrocities, and his magistrate Meldorath overthrew him by killing him. The city was in a lot of fear and chaos after the evil of their new Lord Meldorath. Lord Meldorath was arrested by order of King Wilhelm, and they sent a new lord over to save the city.
Galen, from the Land of the Princes, faced the challenge of fleeing the land and going to Magnum Caelum, a city in Voulhire where his uncle lived. He was about to learn the skill of blacksmithing. Galen found life in the country very interesting, and a lot of development was already in place in Magnum Caelum. King Wilhelm reigned in the city of Voulhire, and his people loved him. Matthew Tysz described Voulhire as a kingdom that was blessed with abundant resources. They respected their past king, Saint Idus. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies leaves us with many questions, such as, "Was Hillport saved?" "Is Lord Meldorath alive?" You can find answers by reading this book.
I liked this book because Matthew descriptively introduced the characters. He was also very good at switching between scenes without confusing the readers, which was impressive. I liked Matthew's imaginative aspects. It piqued my curiosity and made me ask myself questions, to which I found the answers as I read. Matthew used an impressive writing style when discussing mages with various magical powers, such as teleportation, mind reading, etc. He emphasized how they wielded each of their powers.
I did not find any reason to dislike this book. I recommend this book to readers who love fantasy and adventure stories. I found a few errors, which shows that We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz was professionally edited, and I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because the storyline was perfect and would not confuse the reader.
