This sound like a very inspiring story. To hear that he won't be able to walk again and then to proof all the doctors wrong is absolutely amazing! Definitely can't wait to read this. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD and thanks for the free book 🤗

I believe that this book would be very inspirational to people who want to recover and emulate the success that Mike was able to achieve. However, I want to say that I hope to be inspired by Mike's story not because I was in the same situation he was once in, but because I can apply the determination and courage that Mike has shown to other areas of my life.
Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

If you like inspirational memoirs about a person, may, a family that would not give up than One Step at a Time: Memoir of a Former Quadriplegic by Michael L. McCord may be an exciting read for you. The author lost the ability to walk, lost his job, and was in danger of losing his family but through determined effort and persistence he triumphed. I look forward to reading this whole book to see if Mike does climb a mountain and send the pictures back to his doubting physical therapist. Thank you, great review.

Its very important to believe in yourself even when no one else does. Michael seems to have gone through a lot of terrible things in this lifetime. This memoir is important and helpful for persons going through similar situations. Congratulations on BOTD

Thank you for your great review. This does sound like an encouraging memoir. I am looking forward to reading it. He was down so many times, just from the sample I have read, and he always bounced back. I'm curious to know more about not only the jobs but how his family life endured through everything. It is added to my list of books to read.

The review of this book is inspiring. Mike losing the control of his limbs because of an accident is the plot of the story. The cover page has a guy standing at the top of mountain which makes me more curious about the regain of his control.

"One Step at a Time: Memoir of a Former Quadriplegic" by Michael L. McCord is a memoir of McCord's life. Michael was in an accident that broke his C-5 and C-6 neckbones and ended up a quadriplegic, lost his job and his marriage became unstable. The surgeon told him that the odds of him ever walking again were very slim. One needs to read the book to find out how Michael lived as a quadriplegic and how he was able to walk again. it is sad that he lost his job and his marriage became unstable, so much for the marriage vow in sickness and in health. Since the title states Former Quadriplegic, it gives away the outcome but the book will give all of the details of his recovery. I cannot imagine how devastating this type of injury would be. Well written with a very good review.

Diagnosed with Brown-Séquard syndrome, Michael "Mike" L. McCord like the little engine did the impossible! Wow an inspiring memoir! I know a family whose daughter is quadriplegic and has equally inspiring life by her faith in Christ. I will read Mike's memoir! You have written the review so well! Congratulations on the BOTD!

The memoir appears to redefine unachievable goals. They are difficult, but they are attainable. And they all begin with a little step. Those who enjoy real-life stories of courage, hope, and perseverance may find this inspiring.

Thank you for this wonderful review. I am delighted to read your opinion on this book and it is my pleasure to come across such a nicely written piece. This was a special book for me as I was able to understand quadriplegic conditions much better. It is a must-read and why, you have already explained. The book talks of courage, willpower, the general bias that comes along with any congenital or accidental disability/disorder, and the feeling of hopelessness that one suffers which can be overcome through moments of support and care.

Mike has an important story that needs to be told. Even during the darkest moment in his life, Mike was brave enough to provide the public with a retelling of this traumatic event. I know that this book will have me all up in my feelings, so I might as well have some tissues on standby.
