I don't think 8 glasses of water a day should be the rule for everyone. I think our individual needs for water are dependent on several factors such as our body size, health conditions, and the types of food we eat on a daily basis. Do we consume large amounts of protein and dry foods? Or do we eat plenty of raw, fresh, juicy foods such as oranges, etc.?

I think a person's weight also plays a role in determining the amount of water intake. 8 glasses a day can be a lot for some and too less for others.

I try to be disciplined, but it takes more work to spend every day of the week drinking the minimum amount of water necessary. The only days I can accomplish this goal are when I go to the gym.

It depends on the person. Some may need to drink more. I try to drink as much as I can. When I eat sweets or something salty, it is mandatory!

In winter I definitely do not follow the rule. I drink more tea than in summer and this helps with the water intake.

I used to have more than 8 glasses a day but since I had my daughter, I can’t even keep track anymore! I probably drink about half that now. Thank you for the reminder, I should go drink a glass now!
