I love historical fiction and I like that the story is set in ancient Greece. I like that the story touches on Greek mythology. I did not know about Zeus giving birth to Athena through his head. Congratulations on making book of the day!

Pericles was known for his rhetorical skills and his ability to inspire the Athenian citizens with his speeches. I don’t really think I want to read another book on this topic as I feel like I have read enough already. Great book though.

Pericles and Aphasia is a fictionalized historical account of a romantic relationship between an Athens ruler and a foreigner. I love historical Greece, its culture, and its philosophies. I love Greek and Roman mythology. The story of Pericles is just one of the minor stories I read, so this book will provide more in-depth information about his life. Romance is not my thing unless it's part of mythology. I'm looking forward to the ending with Aspasia in Athens. Congratulations on the BOTD.
