Fax and his Adventures to prevent Climate Change by L C J Emery is a science fiction fantasy book. It has 128 pages and sixteen chapters.

Fax, an egg-born Troodon turned into a quantum computer made of diamond, is a member of the Infinite Time Consortium. He was assigned the duty of protecting Earth from alien attacks. He was asleep for around sixty-six million years until recently, when Kyle and Professor Woodrow awoke him from his virtual slumber. Upon waking, Fax gave both of them a big scare, but after realizing they were fellow Earthborn, he apologized. Fax then immediately changed his appearance and asked for their help. What kind of help does the Earth Protector need? This gold-powered hero has a big task that takes readers from Seatown in England to Yellowstone National Park in America and other parts of the world. We follow Fax on his adventures in discovering threats to Earth and how he eliminates the dangers, all in Fax style.

L C J Emery has done a fantastic job creating a character with an animated feel and bizarre and unexpected thinking that only a virtual being could have thought of. I liked the concept of the quantum-real character, and the plot was grand. I recalled all the funny scenes of Jim Carrey in The Mask movie whenever I read about Fax’s actions, like the cartoon-like jaw drop, changing appearances, and the robbery incident at the Tower of London.

I loved the part when Fax transformed into a whale smoking a cigar and holding a gun; that was a funny and vivid image. And after reading, I also got the big picture of all kinds of human activities that can lead the Earth to turn into a barren planet. That realization from this book was a reminder that we need to change our ways. I enjoyed the first and last three chapters. The three concluding chapters contained the most profound parts, and the ending was beautiful and concerning.

The story is creative, and Fax is a splendid hero. But this book falls short in two areas: the language used and the fast-paced story. Some sentences went right over my head and were not easily understood. I had a hard time reading through many of the conversations and scenes, and it took me three readings to comprehend their meaning. I could have enjoyed it more if the language was simple and understandable.

I also felt the pace was too rushed. A lot was happening together, and there was not enough space to understand some scenes. Because of that, there were parts that I had to reread to know what happened. When Fax, Kyle, and Professor were going to Africa, Fax was inside a memory midway through the ride, where he went to a restaurant, and only after rereading did I get that he was still in the memory. These two negatives detracted from my reading experience. I will deduct two stars for these two reasons. I also noticed ten errors, and for this reason, I will subtract another star.

I give it two out of five stars. Two stars for the captivating plot and Earth’s protector, Fax. I recommend reading this book if you want a humorous and lighthearted story about saving the Earth from pollution and other harmful activities.

It receives two stars out of five. Two stars for the intriguing storyline and Fax, the defender of Earth. If you want to read a funny and cheerful narrative about protecting the Earth from pollution and other detrimental activities, I suggest reading this book.

The plot and characters sounds exciting. And I already like Fax for his shape shifting antics. But I'm not really sure about reading this because of the pacing and language issues you mentioned. All in all I enjoyed your review so much. Excellent job on it Kavita.

Did Fax sleep for so many years because there were no alien invasions? What a cool job!

I like science fiction, but this seems to lean a lot more towards fantasy. It is an interesting concept, but I really find it difficult to believe. I know it’s fiction and not real, but still.

I trust your judgment on the book because it is often similar to mine. Although the story has potential, the difficult language can be an obstacle for me. A wonderful and honest review. Well done Kavita

A whale smoking a cigar and holding a gun must have made a very hilarious scene.
I like the author's creative imagination of getting rid of climate change through Fax.
Thanks for the amazing review.

Thank you for commenting Elina!
The answer lies in Fax being a Troodon(a dino) so you can guess why a dino was never seen in 66 million years.

Here's what google says
Dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago (at the end of the Cretaceous Period), after living on Earth for about 165 million years.

Despite the negative aspects, this one sounds like quite an entertaining read, aside from its important underlying message of the need for environmental conservation and preservation. Fax sounds like a 'cool' guy. Amazing review, thank you for the nice work.
The gift turned out to be a curse. They killed him with kindness.
