Mary Grace Miller, a 10-year-old girl, and Donny Miller, a 5-year-old boy with Down syndrome, were young children. Jen Miller is a civil engineer, and John Miller is a priest and the rector of St. John Episcopal Church; both were their parents. The family visited the zoo to take in the views, but Donny ended up going missing, which caused everyone to become anxious and frightened. How did they locate him, and where was he?

The news that John and Jen Miller would need to travel to Kenya in Africa as missionaries and reside there for two years reached them. Mary Grace's parents informed her about it after she returned from swimming at Stacy's place. The kids were supposed to relocate to California and stay with Papa Steve and Grandma Cathy. How did the children respond to the news? What were their encounters in California like?

There are numerous lessons to be gained from Catherine A. Pepe's Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures. I discovered that leaving a location doesn't mean that it's bad for us; rather, it means that we can make a difference somewhere. I discovered that staying composed and strong in the worst-case scenario might help solve many issues instead of worrying. I have discovered that spending time with your children as a parent helps to build a stronger bond with them and teaches them to express any issues that are troubling them.

This book is broken up into various chapters, each with a lovely title. For ease of understanding, it includes several diagrammatic illustrations. The characters are well-developed, the novel is well-detailed, and it is not complicated. The book is exceptionally well-edited because it has no grammatical or typographical problems.

I loved the book in every way, although there was a little drawback. It is challenging to read clearly because of the small text size. Though it isn't a reason to take away a star, I'll still give it five out of five stars. I'll suggest it to anyone who wants to learn more about California. I'll also suggest it to anyone looking to improve their relationship with their children.
