After a tragic accident, Adam, his wife, Eve, and their ever-faithful dog, Luke, follow the storyteller as he takes them on a journey to witness the three beginnings and an attempt to engineer the fourth. These questors are joined by the ever-inquisitive Numpty and his highly analytical uncle, Rambler. Their quest is cut short several times by Nick Peters, the cunning breaker, his servant Grimrose, a shapeshifter, and his host of breakers brethren, who are intent on seeing such seekers of truth thwarted. What the truth is, what it represents for the world, and what it means for the breakers are yet to be revealed. Will Nick succeed, or will a shift of sides and a lack of empathy lead to his end? Will the seekers find what they are after, or will it be another quest foiled by the breakers?

The Fourth Beginning by Paul Georgiou is a book filled with adventure, love, friendship, and a persistent search for the truth. The characters try to reconcile what they have seen with what they know through introspection. It tilts towards the paranormal and employs an omniscient narrator. Paul Georgiou's book questions the very foundations of what we believe and why we believe it. I loved how the mental twists and turns lend credence to the whole story. I also loved how each of the characters played their roles alongside the quarrels without taking center stage. An example of this is when Kit opts to be sent down to Hell. Even when he knew the answer to the breaker's test, he allowed Adam to take the lead after giving him a hint. It also implies that our journey in search of what is true is personal. We can seek help, but in the end, we have to take the reins of action.

There is something about The Fourth Beginning that I have tried to process. Just like the questors, it appears the reader also has to make sense of what the author describes as the fourth beginning. I understand this to be the start of seeing things in a different kind of light. The author seems to leave the term open to various interpretations without giving a formal answer in his book. This was the only reservation I had about the book.

This book was professionally edited, as I found only a few errors in it. I give this book a rating of five out of five stars. I have no solid reasons to remove any stars from this book. The positive aspects of the book highly influenced my rating, and I did not think the negative aspect I noted was enough to deduct a star from my rating. Hence, I did not give the book a lower rating.

I recommend this book to lovers of adventure, the sciences, and the supernatural. I further recommend this book to people who love a good tale with happy endings.

This novel seems to offer an unusual interpretation of human history but it's up to the reader to interpret the author's reconstruction and its religious connotation. Thank you for your great review!
