Sometimes I just sit down, lost in thoughts about life. Does every person have to pass through difficult moments even when they have tried their best to create happiness for themselves? It's really saddening and heartbreaking to see a family built on love begin to wear down due to an uncontrolled situation. I haven’t felt so emotional after reading the book Dying Well by Susan Ducharme Hoben. This book reminds me of a lot of things, and at the end of this book, my head was occupied with a whole lot of unanswered questions.

This book is basically about the author and her husband, Bruce, who are so fond of each other and have built a lovely and admirable home. After the author had battled and won a very dreadful illness, she celebrated it with friends. A few years later, her husband, Bruce, was also diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. To be honest, I was moved to tears when I read about how they narrated their beautiful moments in life. What would be the outcome of Bruce's illness? Would it be similar to that of his wife?

One thing I was able to do while reading this book was connect with the author, which is why I was so engrossed in the story. I really don’t know how to express what I feel in this book. But then, I must specifically thank the author for her courage to write this book. It's not easy writing this book, but I strongly believe it would be of great help to someone. Another beautiful thing I noticed while reading was the consistent praise the author showered on her husband. It was so beautiful, and I loved reading it. The narrative pattern of this book is commendable, as is the author's writing style. There is a lot to like about this book; I just listed a few above.

The use of some medical terminologies and words whose meaning was not provided was the only thing I disliked in this book. Though it did not affect my overall reading experience, which is why I will give it a full rating of five out of five stars, it was thoroughly edited, showing there were no errors.

I recommend this beautiful and well-crafted book to lovers of non-fiction and also to those who are battling with any life-threatening illness.

The title of this book make me think it's about how to prepare one self for death. But reading this little about two persons struggle to be happy despite life threatening sickness is quite inspiring.

Dying Well by Susan Ducharme Hoben is a very emotional and touching book that i found relatable having watched my mom die. The author's courage to write this book is commendable, and I'm sure it will be of great help to anyone going through a similar situation.

I also feel like life can be very unfair, especially to certain persons. The book seems like a thought-provoking and that interests me. Sometimes, it's good to just pause and reflect about life, and I think this book encourages that. Thanks for a beautiful review. I hope the couple have a happy ending afterall. I'd love to read too.

We have to sometimes reflect on things happening around us and life in general because things don't seem to always work out as we planned. Great review too.

My aunty Maria (god rest her soul) was battling with a life-threatening illness too. I wish she was around to read this. Oh how she loved reading.

Your review is very simple and rich. I have read this book and I loved it too but I disagree with some of the authors philosophies. Keep it up

Indeed, life has no balance. Some things happens and you can't fail but blame the universe. I'll love to read on the author's and Bruce's story. Thanks for an amazing review.

If there's a truth we must know about this world, it is that we must face challenges and problems. Still, it doesn't take away the pain and frustration that comes when such a situation arises. I'll like to read about Susan and Bruce. Interesting review.
