The song is 'Two Birds on a Wire' by Regina Spektor. It makes me feel bad for both birds, even though the song isn't supposedly about birds.
The song represents the relationship between two people where one cannot progress in life for whatever reason, while the other wants to grow and move ahead. The second person wants to do all these things with their friend and wants them to be a part of this change, but they can't bring themselves to go with them. It is relatable in both facets.
