This book and it's amazing storyline will definitely make a good movie. I love the concept in which was written; the boy who was once a farmer turns out to become a wrestler. One would think this is a nonfiction too. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!

Historical fictions tell a lot about the talent of the writer. It requres special skill to write a book that will make a reader believe it actually happened. However, I will have to pass this book, because I never had even the slightest interest in wrestling, boxing or any other aggressive sports.

The sample pages did not appeal to me much. I do not find the concept of wrestling to be particularly compelling, despite the author's entertaining storytelling style. I appreciate the authentic feeling I experienced while reading about John's life on the farm. I am sure many other readers will enjoy this story, but I will skip this one. Squirt Malone's early years were very interesting. I don't think I've read anything about this period previously so I was fascinated with the life the family lived, and Squirt Malone left home at the age of 12 to pursue a career in wrestling. I agree with the reviewer about the steller writing all done in the first person, and making the book more interesting. Great Review! I've already bought the Kindle version.
