This book narrates the story of Kelly, who while on a vacation in Honduras with her husband Thomas Turbulo stumbles upon terrorist activity. Kelly and Tom with the help of a few friends start investigating the suspicious activities. They very cleverly carry out their plans despite being surrounded by danger all the time. This book kept me at the edge of my seat until the very end.

Kelly is thrown into a world of danger when one day she unwittingly witnesses a terrorist base while shopping for souvenirs for her family. Kelly, Tom, and their friends Agatha, and Sharon investigate the activities while keeping the pretence of carefree tourists. This book also covers the point of view of the terrorists, and we are shown their detailed planning for carrying out Operation Nuclear Winter. Dear Leader and his general are responsible for carrying out this project in the name of world domination. We are shown how, risking their lives a lot many times, Kelly, and her friends protect their country.

The author has researched a good deal about the workings of nuclear devices and her hard work can clearly be seen in the book, the pace of the book is smooth and once you start reading, it feels like you are watching a movie which has the perfect amount of suspense, thrill, romance, and action in it.

I liked the character of Kim Jung Lo, who played a huge role in this scheme. This book also made me realize how less we appreciate intelligence agencies who avert such big crises while the common man stays safe, blissfully ignorant. It also made me realize how much we depend on technology today, and how a small, carefully planned attack on the power grids could end a nation.

I could find no fault with this book in the case of the plot and was also very impressed by the details and mechanisms which are very carefully placed in the book, making sure it doesn’t dull the storyline. I could find no errors, which shows that the book has been carefully edited. It is without any hesitation that I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating.

This book can be enjoyed by anyone as it is written in crisp and simple language, but I feel that it will be best enjoyed by teens since it includes few scientific explanations of some procedures. If you are feeling bored and want to go on a secret mission whose outcome determines the fate of a nation, this is your cue to join Kelly and her friends right away!
