The quest for wealth can many-a-times make even good people to compromise their values, so I'm curious to know if the miners remained loyal to one another till the very end. Nice review. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful review of "The Second Five" by Raymond Maher. Your captivating description of the book's action-filled adventure in the Fraser River Gold Rush has left me eager to explore this thrilling wilderness journey and delve into the historical setting of British Columbia, Canada.
From your review, it's evident that the author's storytelling skills are exceptional, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with every twist and turn. The fact that the narrative is presented through the perspective of Nothing Brown, the "doctor to be" and preacher, makes it even more enticing.

'Gold unifies people but can also endanger lives.' There's a truth in this statement, which I'll like to discover in this book. How did gold unify the five and endanger their lives? Good review.

I admire stories with good character building. The plot with the five characters and their search for gold sounds like a good read. I'm sure I'd enjoy this book.
As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will always exist.

Efforts to acquire quick wealth never goes without a fight; therefore, some action is to be expected. In an era when human interactions mattered the most, I'd love to know what went down in the 1860's. A great book I must tell, although I can only say much about its prequel. Wonderful review.

Today's BOTD is a historical fiction standalone sequel to The Deadly Five, which is set in the 1860s. Filled with action, adventure, and suspense, readers will love the descriptive scenes and twists-n-turns as they venture along with these 5 men on their quest to discover gold! Thank you for your review! :-)

I really like the idea of mixing different cultures and different people, rather unexpectedly thrown together.

Wow, this book promises so much. Adventure is one of my best themes in books. I'll like to read about canoe river traveling, fur trading, lovable pets, and others. Nice review.
