It was so sweet! I also thought that was very clever of the author to do that. I’m actually curious what the other books of the series is about.MsH2k wrote: ↑04 Jul 2023, 14:48Oh my, that part brought tears to my eyes. I’m glad the author accelerated the timeline a bit to show the positive effects of Justin’s “punishment.”Heidi M Simone wrote: ↑04 Jul 2023, 13:57 I loved when Justin was shown compassion and understanding toward the end, and in turn he was so sweet to Donny (hugs for marbles).

I thought Tiffany’s character was a great example of the complexity of our human nature. She was both a victim and a perpetrator. I wonder if she would not have cheated had she not been preoccupied by her jealousy of Mary Grace and Penelope’s friendship.Zainab Wasif wrote: ↑28 Jul 2023, 07:12 The scene where Tiffany confides her mistake was touching for me. I felt pity for her. We all make mistakes but it’s tough when one is blackmailed, specially kids, and made to do things we would never do otherwise.

That was a beautiful act indeed. It's also nice to know that this act was probably based on the author's actual experience.Thera reads wrote: ↑29 Jul 2023, 03:27 The part where MaryGrace forgave those bullies and made sure that they were not disgraced. That was such a beautiful act of forgiveness.

Francis Ignacio wrote: ↑19 Aug 2023, 07:49 I feel like many parts in the book got to me. One of the reasons being that I'm an absolute softie. However the part that got to me the most was when Mary realised that she won't be with her parents for a long while.
I too found it emotional when the realization that her parents were going so far away hit. Thankfully, she and Donny had a loving, safe place to stay while they were gone.Covenant Morolayo Olusegun wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 10:06 The moment Mary Grace found it hard to accept the reality of her parents travelling, I felt for her.

Words can be powerful, and just a little encouragement can go a long way. I am reminded of the phrase "hurt people hurt people". Likewise, when we stop to care for each other and love one another, we can change the narrative.
