Although this isn't my kind of book, it certainly gets off to a strong, frightening start, capturing the reader's interest right from the get-go. Congrats to the author on her achievement.

The author did a very great job here, the adventure and the magic made the book so interesting to read even though I have a little problem with a too-length book. Kudos to the author

It sounds like a long story with a lot of action packed into every chapter. Good review! I really liked it!

'Official Review: Not What Meets the Eye' by Matrika Hay acquaints the readers with the salient features of the author's work. The reactions to the book provided by the reviewer were interesting to learn. The point that the book follows Antosha Scarlett, an archeologist with a tragic past that has come back to haunt her is worth mentioning in the review. Also, as mentioned in the review, the point that the dialogue between the characters was organic and rather humorous at times is remarkable for readers. It was great to learn that the book was as if it was written specifically to be adapted into a movie!

At first glance it seems like a deep and complex read. Thanks for the review, it would be a good option for lovers of this genre, even if it is a very long book.

Dealing with past trauma can be challenging. Antosha will definitely brace herself for the challenges ahead. Will she come out of it alive? I wonder why the author couldn't split the book to make it a series. That way, we have better readability and easy flow. Great review!

Antosha is the female version of Indiana Jones. That was the first thought that popped in my head when I read the sample. I also liked how simple the language is and how everything flowed well in the story making it so easy to understand. Thank you for writing an honest and insightful review!

I agree that such a long read calls for an organized table of contents. But it must be a thrilling adventure!

The review gave me a clear cut idea about the book. There is suspense involved with both the main characters. 700 pages seems daunting but if it a page turner like you mentioned then I would want to read it.

“Not What Meets the Eye” by Matrika Hay is story that includes 700 pages split into 32 chapters and it follows archeologist Antosha Scarlett. Antosha barely escapes an attack by an assassin and then she is invited to lead an expedition to the Lost City, a site where she lost her parents years ago. She faces danger on the ship to the Lost City and she will attempt to uncover much more than just artifacts on the expedition. She undoubtedly wants to investigate the deaths of her parents while finding artifacts. I am looking forward to reading this book since I want to know if she finds information about her parents’ deaths and if the expedition is successful in finding ancient artifacts. A well-written mystery thriller.

The book needs a table of contents. Thank God Antosha escaped the assassin's attack. I like the cordial relationship between Antosha and Nathious. Nice review. Congratulations on BOTD.

Wow, 700 pages sound like a huge commitment. From your review, it has a very Lara Croft sound to it; the character development, especially that of Nathious, Anthosha, and Sahar, is enough for me to consider reading it. Thank you.

To read a book that long can be wearisome for me, except if the story is griping as shown in this review.

The review was good. I have do have a question though: What is the plot of the book? Is it a mystery? I guess you could not really explain the book without giving a spoiler. I would just like a better understanding of what the book is about.
