Well-done review of a book offering lots of mystery, action, and intrigue for all. Sounds terrific and a very good base for activity of this sort - archaeology.

I wonder what past trauma is coming back into Antosha's life. It seems like this book is full of adventure, suspense, and a myriad of questions. I cannot wait to buy this book and follow Antosha and her crew on this expedition to the Lost City.

Stories that revolve around archaeological expeditions associated with adventures always intrigue me to read and enjoy them. "Not What Meets the Eye by Matrika Hay" seems to have all those fascinating elements enough for me to indulge in it.

I enjoyed this story and enjoyed reading the review. The sample (a long one) wasn't long enough to find out all the things I wanted to know. It is a story I would love to read completely, sometime. However I want to give the review 3 out of 4 for saying it was professionally edited. There were many times that sentences started with 'ing' ending verbs and this made them not as concise and well arranged as they should have been. Many sentences could have been less wordy. The dialogue wasn't as brief and clipped as normal speech and some of the stated sentences seemed pointless. A tightening of some of the dialogue would have helped. The dialogue could have benefited from starting in media res at times, instead f at the beginning of a conversation. One good thing is that the author used colloquial expressions which made the characters seem more real. There were no actual inaccuracies but editing and beta reading could have made the reading more clear. eg at one stage she fell asleep sitting up? When she awoke, what she held was on her chest which means she did lie down. It wasn't stated. Things like this detract from the reading and it is just one example. I'm not one to toss a book aside if the story is good and this is a good story. I'd like to know what planet it is set on. Two harvest moons? and no names I recognized. Great selection for BOTD and the review was comprehensive. No spoilers but I found out things I never read about in the sample. Very intriguing.

Not what meets the eye
Archeological dark past tragedy involving assaults and magic not welcome in these updated days since redundant medieval mystery enactments.
Not a fan

This book tells the story of the sea, journey, friendship, past, nostalgia, and relationship. I am curious as to how the two met. I am looking forward to reading this book to find out. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

Thank you for your great review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book. Though I could tell it was written well from the sample, I believe I will pass on it since I don't believe it's a good fit for me and it is so long. I'm sure there will be many others that will enjoy it.

"Not What Meets the Eye" is a gripping and thought-provoking film that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. With its unpredictable plot twists and stellar performances from the cast, it delves into the complexities of human nature and challenges our perceptions of reality. The skillful direction and captivating cinematography create a hauntingly atmospheric experience. However, the film's ambiguous ending may leave some audiences wanting more closure. Overall, "Not What Meets the Eye" is a must-watch for those seeking a riveting psychological thriller with a deep exploration of the human psyche.
